Art Challenge Project #4: Tornado

Hello again for another installment of the Art Challenge Projects. Now that we're starting to get into a rhythm with releases, the goal is that you will see one of these every other Sunday or Monday, so stay tuned.

This week's project idea was a tornado plowing through a golden field. The field part was dropped by Sara but she kept the golden color in the sky. This created a nice color contrast between the golden sky and dark storm, circulating together in the tornado. For the music, I wanted to accentuate that contrast of the brights and darks mixing together.

The track begins with a lighter, ambient sound to represent the golden sky before the storm. The track builds with a dark, arpeggiating bass with an airy atmosphere to foretell the coming of the storm. Then a short break into the big section to represent the booming storm. Keeping the choral sounds helps create the swirling of colors, with the horns adding an additional layer of brightness and power. Then the piece winds down to a darker version of the intro as the song comes to an end.
